FAST TRACK A-LEVEL COURSES

Fast track your studies with one of our one year intensive A-Level courses starting in September or five-term A-level courses starting in January.

FAST TRACK A-LEVELS

Our intensive September start, one year A-Level courses are designed for very able students who can clearly demonstrate the academic ability to succeed on a highly intensive course.

Such students will ordinarily have completed the equivalent of UK AS-levels or above in their home country or are UK students who need to study a new A-Level to enable them to pursue a change in career or academic direction.


An alternative option for international students is an NCUK IFY programme offered by the college; students may choose from one of business, science and engineering.


Our five-term A-level programme that starts each January is fast track for the first two terms and returns to a standard study pace during the final three terms.

5 TERM A-LEVELS (JANUARY START)

Our 5 Term A-Level course option begins in January. Through having additional tuition hours, students are able to complete the first half of each A-Level subject by the end of their first two terms of study, thus enabling them to complete their final academic year of three terms at a standard pace of tuition.

The five-term course suits students who:

  • Want to change schools after one term of A-Level elsewhere and re-start A-Levels, usually studying different subjects than those they started
  • Want to study A-Levels in the UK and have finished their GCSE or equivalent studies in their home country in November or December and do not want to wait for a September start A-Level programme

ONE YEAR A-LEVEL COURSE (SEPTEMBER START)

A one-year A-Level course is particularly intensive covering the material for a two-year course in one year. It requires strict adherence to the precise subject specification.

The intensive style of teaching and the efficiency of the teaching method used at Oxford Sixth Form College enable us to prepare some students for A-Level examinations in just one year. This assumes that these students possess the required academic skills and, especially in the sciences, prior knowledge of the subject. A one-year A-Level course places greater responsibility on the student to study effectively.

STUDYING AT OXFORD SIXTH FORM COLLEGE
